Chitchat

The BMS exe is an evolution of the SP3 exe, and 'apparently' does and WILL retain full compatibility with SP3/4 data.
The VO guys have been invited to help develop the BMS exe, so if all is well, the VO changes may well show up in the next BMS exe. Barring factional flame wars and ego battles.
As for ODS, i guess it depends on if someone is willing to step up and take the place of Snakeman and manage the project, assuming the rest of the ODS team wishes to continue without him!

Well as a former "VO" Beta Tester (not Developer / Coder) I can assure you there was lot's of passion for what we were doing. And some damm good fixes. From what I can understand, the VO Dev's are "wary" of becoming involved with BMS because of what I like to call the "Claude Factor" (IOW G2i).

I hope these people can ignore the flames, call a truce, merge this stuff for once and for all ...

Otherwise, I will ....//.... be staying with VO Exe Build 30511 and ODS 512's many Campaigns that need work (and I need to learn). And of course, LOMAC could be released by Christmas so that we can have at least one, modern (ITO of O/S, DX9) "Plug 'n Play" Jet Sim for "entertainment" ...

SP4 preview: Nieuwe film C3PO

Hij gaat maar door. Weer een nieuwe film van C3PO.

C3PO:
Another new feature of SP4 -- ships launching missiles. Among the new missiles implemented: SAN3, SAN6, SAN9, M2ER, SM2MR, SM1ER, SM1MR and the RIM7. Appropriate launch warnings are heard in the pit on launch, although the RWR will not pick up a radar search indication from the ship because of a bug in SP3 (a workaround is being considered).
Other appropriate features have been implemented too. Optical missiles though have not been included because the massive fire rate causes too big a hit to FPS.
However, the improvements to gameplay by introducing these missiles are remarkable. It is extremely dangerous going in to attack a blue battle group now for example. Expect multiple missile launches and beware of the increased threat. Of course there are missile launches too for red vessels.

And another great addition, as you can see from above, a reworked Mig 29 model by Christian. It's a great improvement on what we have already in SP3...the new afterburner looks great as well.
The "blue racks" problem is a texture error which is being fixed...didn't want to hold up posting though so just be aware that it'll be fine for release.

GuiTigor1c

GUI Tile Integrator 1c is the easy to use, graphical version of Stiletto2's great Tile Integrator 1c (Tigor1c) for Falcon 4.0.
It can integrate new/updated high-resolution tiles (most likely by Twaelti) into Falcon's terrain and make it look a lot better.
GuiTigor1c has been optimized for the Korean and Balkans theaters. It can be used for other theaters as well, although it hasn't been optimized for them.
Beta testers have reported positive results using GuiTigor1c for other theaters, so it's well worth a try.
See the included "readme.txt" file for further details and installation instructions.

Ze gaan er nog steeds voor.
Naast FF2 en BenchMarkSims gaat SP4 gewoon door.

Just a couple of additonal things:

Yes a fire station is being worked on together with a C130 fuselage for practise.
When you kill an aircraft the weapons its carrying also get deleted from the inventory.

This is still work in progress and there is more to come.

F4 BMS

Falcon 4.0 BMS HighRes tiles

Er komen veel goede berichten van deze exe update.
En voor de duidelijkheid, de BMS groep heeft dus toestemming van G2i gekregen om de exe van Falcon 4.0 aan te passen.
Dit geeft weer heel veel speel ruimte om Falcon nog verder te verbeteren.
Oa op het gebied van grafics. Hires tiles gaan er steeds beter uit zien.
Een verdere update van deze patch is zeer binnenkort te verwachten.

Snakeman

This is my quit/retirement message for Falcon 4.0 scene. As from this moment on I quit, no more Falcon 4 Theater Development for me.

Its too much group politics bullshit to develop theaters anymore. After the initial RPG vs eFalcon crap it was sweet times and it peaked up for the excellent SP5 or "ViperOps" as they call it, but when the exe was leaked and SP5 shut down and finally FreeFalcon created... it was all one big ass downhill from there.

I want to thank Codec, the one bad ass coder and hardcore developer of Falcon, like our index page says hes the man to thank for most of the falcon stuff we see. I still have the first email I sent to you saying "Can you help me with terrains???", heh could you have imagined how far did we get, heh?. Codec you're one of a kind, its been a priviledge and honor to work with you. Thank You very much for the opportunity.
Also I would like to thank Widowmaker the always on IRC buddy who has been with the theater development for longer than I can remember, you have always been there to help a great deal in the various theaters were gone through. Excellent work.
Also I would like to thank all those people who has helped me in the theater development but I dont want to go into specifics so I dont forget anyone. Thank You all, you know who you are and have my appreciation and respect.

If its still unclear to someone why I retired, the simple reason is the "politics" of Falcon stuff, ie SP5 development shutting down, FreeFalcon and now this falcon bms thing. I just had enough, how the hell do you even imagine to develop theaters in this mess? I quit, better to just clearly quit while you're on top than just simply fade away...

PMC TFW web page + forum will stay online. I hope the forum stays clean and not turn into a copy of the other crappy ones you see out there with flame wars. Keep it clean guys and the forum stays open forever. I'll check upon there from time to time...

Announcing F4-BenchmarkSims

Belangrijke stap voor Falcon 4.0??

In an effort to improve Falcon 4.0, Benchmarksims.com has retained an agreement with G2Interactive Inc., to modify the Falcon 4.0 source code and to provide a free of charge, free to download executable to the community.
Major contributors to Falcon include the RP Group, Eteam, the Unified Team, and Free Falcon. We are VERY sensitive to the work done by these groups, and as such, have gone through great pains to maintain the integrity of that work. We would also like to thank the various community members that helped with the initial testing.
That said, we submit to you, the community, a modified SP3 executable, that we humbly feel incorporates some of the graphical enhancements and fixes that we have all been hoping for. However, please note that this is a beta release, and as such, there may very well be bugs, including incompatabilities with some graphics cards. Therefore, PLEASE!! report all bugs and send your crashlogs to f4@benchmarksims.com.

Nieuwe Korea/Balkans TE/UI Map

Nieuwe UI map Balkans

Jester van het 87th heeft een nieuwe gedetailleerde UI Map gemaakt voor Korea en Balkans.

Jester: I´ve been wanting to better utilize real world navigational charts with Falcon 4, both as a tool to make more realistic TE´s (use of MOA´s etc) and more precise navigation.
From start to finish, this took me about one day.
I had no knowledge whatsoever of perl, scripting or anything. Thanks to the tutorials available at PMC TFW and the assistance of Snake_Man and BenBen, i was able to figure out just how to do this pet project of mine.
With the assistance of my partner in crime, Mirv, i set out to create this modification.

In de Superpit serie van Aeyes is weer een release tot stand gekomen, de A-10 Warthog cockpit.
100% functioneel zoals we dat van de Viper Superpit van Aeyes gewend zijn, en vele extra's
Aeyes over de release:

- Wings cammo selection.
You can select what color wings you fly in 2D, green cammo or grey, there are 2 batchfiles in your art/ckptart/891 folder, "usegreenwings"and "usegreywings", clicking them will select what color the be in game.

- Smart switching between normal view and wide view (use shift-2).

- Instruments lights
The right side of the panels has a panel called "INTR LIGHTS", you can switch instrument lights on by turning INST LT from OFF to BRT for flying at night with the daytime pit.

- High resolution kneemap of Korea.
(for flying at night use NVG to be able to read the kneemap)

- Rampstart
It is possible to do a complete rampstart. You will find a Checklists doc on your right knee your art/ckptart A10 folder, or download the A-10 Checklists instruction docs made by Red Dog.

You can browse through Red Dog's excellent checklists by rightclicking the mouse on the right kneeboard

- Browsable checklists for TACAN frequencies
You can browse through Red Dog's excellent TACAN FREQUENCY checklists by panning down from your 12 o'clock.

There is a imaginary cross on the stick's trim button, using this cross and left and rightclick will let you trim the plane.

Het is even stil geweest rond de updates aan André's pit, maar er is, en wordt nog steeds hard gewerkt aan de pit.
André over zijn laatse updates:

De Viper is inmiddels verhuisd naar mijn slaapkamer(enigste kamer die groot genoeg was om hem te herbergen). En ben begonnen met het detailwerk zoals belettering en de voorste kap. Langzaam begint hij nu de echte F16 vorm te krijgen en wordt ook het werken eraan wordt nu steeds boeiender. Niet lang hoop ik en de eerste kabels zullen gesoldeerd worden,maar laat ik daar nog niet op vooruit lopen. Gelijk toen hij boven aankwam heb ik de ejectionseat erin gezet en ben erin gaan zitten,...kan je zeggen zit heerlijk!. Na al dat werk een heerlijk moment en je realiseerd je de afgelopen 3 maanden hoe snel ze gingen.
