BMS v08 fixes

De problemen zijn min of meer verholpen in onderstaande fixes.
Lees voor verdere uitleg de nieuw uitgebrachte readme van Aragorn, en kijk of jouw problemen met onderstaande fixes op te lossen zijn.

Voor de wat minder ervarene onder ons, kan ik me voorstellen dat het aantal patches wat uitkomt de laatste tijd wat te veel voor je wordt en je door de bomen het bos niet meer ziet.
Advies is dan ook om FreeFalcon 2 te gebruiken en te wachten tot alle kleine problemen met de BMS patch opgelost zijn.
De aanpassingen, veranderingen en vooral de toevoegingen gaan in een (te) hoog tempo, waardoor men constant aan het corrigeren is. Laat dit alles eerst uit kristaliseren.

Voor de meer gevorderden onder ons, lees Aragorns readme en je hebt een paar zeer leuke toevoegingen die Falcon weer net dat beetje extra geeft.

- You can now adjust the field of view in game.
- This has multiple uses. Increasing the FOV can dramatically increase perception of speed, and can be used in the virtual cockpit to see more of the cockpit. Decreasing the FOV allows closer inspection of far away objects, and allows closeup views of the MFD's in the virtual cockpit.

Wanneer hij uiteindelijk helemaal af zal zijn met de werkende MFD screens en ICP en schakelaars kan ik niet zeggen,...maar ik weet een ding,..en dat is dat het bouwen ,mits goed gepland en voorbereid erg leuk en tevens boeiend werk kan zijn.
Vooral ook de spontane reacties van medebouwers of geintresseerden die ik heb mogen leren kennen tijdens mijn bouwperiode motiveerden enorm.

This is a must read message for all participants!!

As you know there's problem with the planned location: the Military Aviation Museum, they can't handle more than 100 participants. We're already in touch with a new location (details will follow ASAP), that location can handle the 125 planned participants.

Friday will be an important day because we gonna talk (face 2 face) with both locations.
Transferring the whole event to a new location isn't that easy and it will be a hard job for the organization. So we don't want to do that job when it's not necessary, a second point is we don't want to let the Military Aviation Museum down.
They've give us a great location for the past events and talking with another location does feel like cheating with another girl :-)

Onderstaande tekst is gepost in Frugals forum door Narphous.
In het Falcon 5 verhaal, de nieuwe flightsimulator gebaseerd op Falcon 4.0 uit 1998, en alle commotie die er de afgelopen week over is ontstaan, zal Narphous de man zijn die tussen de Falcon 4 Community staat en de makers van Falcon 5.
Onderstaande uitleg van Claude Cavanaugh moet een einde maken aan de vrees die Claud had dat er illegaal aan de Falcon 4 code werkt gewerkt door een groep onbekende, terwijl de code eigendom is van Claud en waar Falcon 5 op gebasseerd zal worden.

All,
The events surrounding the group known as "Viper Ops" have quite possibly caused more division and controversy within the Falcon community than anything else may have. These events illustrate how important communications are.


Let me start with how things started at my end. Mike Kent visited our development studio in Denver last year. We had a discussion about bug fixing and I told him to go ahead and take a look to see what he could do. We continued to talk and I approved of what he was trying to do.

I authorized him to put together a small team to look at these bug fixes and possibly a few enhancements. I received word from Mike that he had formed a team and he sent me a document with suggested bugs to work on with an updated version to follow.

Then the problems started. Mike's wife had a baby and about that time we lost touch. No one else contacted me and the update I was expecting never came. As a result, though I had agreed to the project itself we had not yet formalized it and no agreement for any release had been reached. For this reason it dropped off my radar. And frankly, I forgot about it until very recently.

However, I've now been made aware that all subsequent development occurred under the terms of the F4UT NDA and that no code was ever distributed to anyone not covered by that same NDA, and that no one ever intended to distribute anything without authorization.

I've come to the conclusion that this was yet another issue that was caused by nothing more than a misunderstanding and lack of communication. I did not realize that Viper Ops was the group formed by Mike Kent.
When I heard about Viper Ops, I thought this was a rogue group that had somehow gotten the leaked source code and was working to develop and distribute a new executable, possibly along with SP4.

As a businessman I had to act rapidly to protect my copyrights. However, let's put all that behind us. I do not want to initiate legal action against anyone. It's just bad business. Worse, the community of Falcon 4 doesn't need anything like that now just as things are starting to look up for all of us.

Therefore in an effort to put this behind us and start moving forward into the next phase of this great simulation called Falcon, I want to extend the following offer: If the developers and testers belonging to, or otherwise associated with, the group known as Viper Ops will cease exe development and agree that nothing will ever be distributed from that code without authorization from G2 Interactive, I will extend full amnesty to all members. However, any distribution methods, whether by email, CVS, or other method must cease immediately.

I do not require that anything be turned over to G2 Interactive.
All I ask is that you recognize that authorization to do any exe development under the F4UT agreement has expired, and therefore exe development must stop.

Given the new and more complete information I now have I obviously would very much welcome any of the Viper Ops members into the Community Developer Program. I respect integrity. They have honored their agreements and I now recognize that.

FOG AND HAZE:
Volumetric and linear vertex fog have been implemented for all BSP objects and the terrain.

ADUJTABLE FOV:
You can now adjust the field of view in game.
This has multiple uses. Increasing the FOV can dramatically increase perception of speed, and can be used in the virtual cockpit to see more of the cockpit.

MOUSE LOOK:
Was a function in the ORIGINAL release of Falcon4.0.
Whilst flying, if you click and HOLD the RIGHT mouse button, you can then use your mouse to SWIVEL your view: Back and forth and up and down.

WAYPOINT TASKING: Have you ever noticed that whilst Mission Planning, you CANNOT assign specific actions to the DIFFERENT waypoints....?
NOW - having adjusted your .cfg file, WHEN you are PLANNING a mission, you can now assign DIFFERENT tasks to WP's.

Native TrackIR support:
Refers to Track IR - a system of moving the view, by moving your HEAD.

MRIVERS:
1) New Animations
+ Added Spoiler animation.
+ Added Propellor (engine RPM relative) animation.
+ Added a more complex Swing Wing animation.
+ Added Exhaust Nozzle animation (DOF based, not switch based)

All,

The world of IP/copyrights is a murky one at best. One of the primary requirements is that a copyright holder always protect those copyrights.
I was given incorrect information, but I had to act on it in order to protect those copyrights, as is required by law. It was pointed out to me by narphous, among others, that I overreacted, and so I hereby retract those statements regarding 3rd party, independently created add-ons and extensions to Falcon, otherwise know as data edits.
This does not mean that I in any way give up my claims on the Falcon executable code. And let me be perfectly clear here, no one may distribute the executable code, either as source or in a compiled form, without the expressed written permission of G2 Interactive.

I welcome the contributions of the community in all other areas, whether a developer chooses to participate in our Community Developer Program, or to act strictly as an independent.
I hope that most will choose our Community program, as this will ensure compatibility and stability going forward. Either way, I wish everyone the best, and I deeply regret the confusion and unease created by my statements.

Let this serve as public notice to F4UT that they
cannot continue work on SP4.

Let me call to your attention the original agreement:

for continued development of features that did not get

These 60 days do, however, begin after the end of the

The original premise of F4UT was to assist G2i in
forming the groundwork for OIR. Once that was
accomplished, F4UT was to cease work on additional
enhancements.

While I appreciate the work UT put in to SP3, I must
also acknowledge the betrayal by some members of UT by
continuing work on the Source Code in violation of the
agreement:

Because F4UT continued work beyond the agreed time
frame, and because members of UT violated their
agreement concerning the Source Code, and because
F4UT's work belongs to G2i by agreement, it is my
position that UT must turn over all current
modifications and cease additional work.

I understand this will not be a popular decision, but
everyone agreed at the beginning that this was a
commercial endeavor by G2i. Lest some forget, G2i was
not required to allow UT to release the modifications
for free. G2i appreciates those who expended so much
energy to help Falcon live.
