Recap

Na een druk weekend met de familie, drukke werkzaamheden en een halve dag Night Of The Proms heb ik weer tijd voor wat flight sim aangelegenheden.

Nogmaals vermeld dat de First Contact Meet voor de rokkies van 15-16 december 2001 naar 12-13 januari 2002 vershoven is.
Aanmelden kan in de First Contact sectie.

Verder de vermelding dat ik verzuip in het werk dat Falcon5.NL mij opleverd.
Sommige secties van de site zijn een grote puinhoop.
Veel links staan naar Falcon40.com en Falcon40.net, die helaas heeft moeten stoppen met zijn service voor de flight sim community. Ook Terrapin van F4Freeware.net is genoodzaakt maatregelen te treffen en heeft het aantal servers terug moeten brengen.
Het bericht wat hij mij stuurde zei het volgende:

Thank you all for your enormous interest in F4Freeware.Net and it's File Library System. Unfortunately I had to shut it down - temporarily at first - due to unforseen and unevitable enormous extra traffic costs.
Although I was able to get special contracts for nearly all my servers, user traffic in the range of 400 GB/month simply isn't bearable for a single person. It was never my intention to get revenues from F4Freeware.Net, I was always aware of blowing money down the toilet...
But now the financial burden is too much. To ensure the pure existence of the betatest-server I was forced to close F4Freeware.Net's File Library.

Dus ...... er staat een hoop werk op me te wachten en helaas heb ik de tijd niet om alles even in een week te corrigeren. Sorry voor deze puinhopen, maar er wordt aan gewerkt.

En ondanks dat het rustig is in Falcon land, toch nog wat leuk nieuws te melden:

Ripper meldt op zijn site dat er een nieuw model uit is van de AS-14 gemaakt door Spyke.
Ziet er goed uit.

Het is zo wie zo eens de moeite om op Rippers sit te gaan kijken. Er staan veel mooie dingen op.
De updates zijn de laatste tijd niet echt frequent, maar Ripper is ook zwaar aan het modelleren voor de SuperPAK release, van volgende maand.

LET OP

Er is weer een nieuw virus in omloop.
Kreeg vandaag 5 mailtjes met redelijk nederlandse namen als zo genaamde afzender, maar met een bericht zonder tekst.
De bijlage wordt aangegeven als zijnde een "txt" bestand.
Dit is het niet. Het is een virus, dus niet openen en meteen verwijderen.
Bedwing je nieuwsgierigheid. :-)

22-11:

Falcon SP v1a

Hij is er, FalconSuperPAK v1a.

Falcon pilots,

The F4UT is proud to announce that SuperPAK1a is ready for download.

The main fixes for this version are:

- The Voodoo3 hard lock.
- ATO mission generation (F-16's tasked as tankers, etc...)
- CTD fixed when SA-5 comes into bubble
- Activate full airbase relocation (when turned on).

You can choose to upgrade your current SP1 installation or download the complete installer again.

Make sure you read the installation instructions for information about what files

you need and what to do with them.

The new files are:

20-11:

A-10 pit Aeyes

Deze week kwam v1.07 van Aeyes A-10 Warthog cockpit uit.
En dat ziet er erg lekker uit.
Perfect on-time voor SuperPAK v2, want die zal een werkend 3D model hebben van de A-10, zoals al eerder gemeld. Oh ja, de pit heeft ook nachtverlichting.

19-11:

SuperPAK v1a

Binnen 72 uur zal hij er zijn, de aangepaste versie van de SuperPAK v1, de SuperPAK v1a.
Brownsnake had het volgende te melden:

Falcon Pilots, The Falcon 4.0 Unified Team is pleased to announce that SP1a will be released within the next 72 hours.

This release will address the following bugs:
- The Voodoo3 hard lock.
- ATO mission generation (F-16's tasked as tankers, etc...)
- Possible CTD when AIM-120 goes Pitbull
- Activate full airbase relocation (when turned on).

The final version of the SP1 manual will be included in the release and also available as a separate download.

SP1a will be available as a new installer as well as an upgrade from SP1.

SuperPAK v1a

SuperPAK 1a soon to be released...


We have investigated the Voodoo 3 lock ups and stability problems that some people have reported with F4SP1 and we are pleased to announce that we have located the cause. Due to a problem with the compiler the final exe did not compile correctly, this explains why no problems existed in the beta exe's.

The problems within the compiler have been identified and resolved. We will be releasing F4SP1a after a period of intense Quality Assurance testing.

The main purpose of F4SP1a is to fix the Voodoo 3 issue and improve stability. A full list of fixes will be posted along with the patch and the completed F4SP1 manual within the next few days.

F4SP1a will be provided as both a complete intall and as a smaller fix. People with fast connections should get the full intall whilst modem users may prefer to just download the fix.

Dus binnenkort een nieuwe SuperPAK release met een fix voor de Voodoo 3 gebruikers.

16-11:

SuperPAK Fix

De eerste foutjes zijn al gevonden in de nieuwe SuperPAK release.
Er zitten een paar typo's in de manual, die op kort termijn verbeterd zullen worden.
En heb je de SuperPAK geinstalleerd met de F4Patch_Standard_41_SuperPAK.zip (17+Mb), dan krijg je de fout dat F-16's als tankers worden getasked. Niet echt handig. De fix is simpel.
In de fix sectie in de download afdeling staat een korte uitleg.

15-11:

De-brief LLWT 2001

F-15 opleiding verfilmd

Volgend jaar februari zal er een film klaar zijn die de opleiding tot F-15 vlieger op Tyndall Air Force Base, zal belichten.
Ik ga hem zeker zien

SuperPack v1

Hij is er. De eerst versie van de SuperPack.
Te vinden in de download sectie in de Patch afdeling.

Deze patch is actief. De rest moet nog over gezet worden naar de nieuwe server.

Dé Skins site voor Falcon 4 is tijdelijk offline, ivm het aanpassen van de verschilledne skins voor gebruik in de eFalcon, RP5 en SuperPack patches.
Heb geduld, ze zullen terug komen.

11-11:

LLWT 2001

Het is weer voorbij, de LowLands Winter Tiger.
En het was weer een waar genoegen. De prijzen zijn vegeven, we hebben veel geleerd, en boven alles, veel plezier gehad met zijn allen.
Zes squadrons met ieder 4 deelnemers die in de Falcon 4 competitie, 4 pittige, maar uitdagende, missies hebben gevlogen. De komende week zullen deze missies in de TE sectie te vinden zijn. Ook zul je een debrief op de LowLands Winter Tiger site (www.lastresort.nu) en hier, terug kunnen vinden.
Ervani en Crew, bedankt.
En voor een ieder die niet heeft meegedaan, je hebt wat gemist.

10-11:

LLWT 2001

De eerste dag van de LLWT 2001, was een succes.
In de Falcon 4 competitie hebben we 2 missie gevlogen. Ze waren lekker.
Helaas nog geen ingame shots genomen maar die komen er aan.
Wel heb ik de missies die vandaag gevlogen zijn voor jullie. In de TE sectie zijn deze te vinden. Missie 1 en 2.

06-11:

Cougar naat LLWT

PRIMEUR op de de LLWT

Naast twee exclusieve LockOn movies, heeft de LLWT nog een unieke premiere.
De Thrustmaster Cougar zal voor het eerst in Nederland aan het flightsim publiek getoont worden.
Afgezien van een paar beurzen is deze premiere uniek voor Europa. Nog een rede om naar de LLWT af te reizen.
10 & 11 november te Soesterberg. Be there.

Slappe tijden

Er is bijna geen nieuws meer te melden. Slappe tijden, voorlopig.
Want December zal een drukke maand worden.

Volgend weekend (10-11 november) de Nederlandse kampioenschappen Falcon 4, in het Nationaal Luchtvaart Museum te Soesterberg.
