Falcon 4.0/SP3 Campaign Mission Report #54
OPERATION ROLLING FIRE
DAY 5 – 0520 HOURS

Campaign Status:

Allied forces continue to move into position to take Wonsan while on the western end of the front the first exploratory steps toward P’yongyang are being taken.

Objective:

The commander down at Wonsan has decided to give me another chance. Still short of pilots (even though I lost one of his airframes on mission #52) he has requested I come down to fill in again on the mission schedule. Anxious to experience more flying outside of the normal operations at Osan, I readily agree.

The mission for this morning will be a search & destroy interdiction flight against any enemy targets found in the Kosong area. The coastal highway running down the east coast of the peninsula is a main thoroughfare for enemy troops working their way south attempting to flank the main allied drive north toward Wonsan. In an effort to clean up the area our 2-ship flight has been tasked to destroy any and all enemy forces found in the immediate Kosong area:

Flightsim weekend 2004

Het komt al aardig dicht bij, het FS weekend 2004 in het nieuwe Aviodrome op 16 en 17 oktober.
Er zijn al meer als 140 deelnemers, zowel civiel als militair, en belooft dus een waar spectakel te worden.
Demoteams, cockpit bouwers, skin makers, theater ontwerpers en nog veel en veel meer.
Alle deelnemers zijn er speciaal op voorbereidt om het publiek op vele manieren te vermaken en van informatie te voorzien. Vragen staat vrij en er zal altijd iemand zijn die je graag al je vragen beantwoord.

Op Frugals vond in bijgaande afbeelding van Brabander. Lid van het Display Tigers, (check hun te gekke nieuwe site) die ook aanwezig zullen zijn op het evenement met een ongetwijfeld spetterende show.
Ik zou het niet willen missen.

F-15 cockpit

De F-15 krijgt tegenwoordog veel aandacht.
Naast de wat oudere F-15C komt ook de Strike Eagle, de F-15E met een mooie cockpit upgrade in Falcon.
Samen met FF3, het nieuwe model, is het een perfecte combinatie om straks Scud hunting te gaan doen in ODS512. Jammie.
Daws liet weer enkele screenies zien van zijn F-15C pit.
Ter vergelijking de nieuwere F-15E frontpit er naast. En zie hier de voorschreiding der techniek.

- Select the default Korea theater.
- Run FreeFalcon-1-Hotfix-1n2.exe.

>> You do not need to reinstall FF3. Just run this installer.

>> If you have installed FF3 Hotfix 1, you can install this patch on top of FF3 + Hotfix 1.

>> The falconbms.cfg file will be replaced, so if you have customized it, you need to back it up, then restore it after install this patch.

- Run FF3-BMS Config Editor and check your settings.

Korea theater update

OK, time to spill the beans a little! - BaZ-T.... Bluey and Zaggs Terrain!

Bluey and I have been upto no-good with the terrain again. Ive been off coding what has amounted to 65-70 A4 pages of interpolation code, that re-renders the Korea theater (and has been carefully sculptured to avoid screwing up stuff like airbases, and the most part of lakes and rivers, etc).
While at the same time, Bluey here has been upto integrating, packaging and building distro's with the new 250m DEM that my little coding effort has created...

Anyway, not yet releasable, but getting that way at good speed... Now we're going to tease you all...

This package contains various skins for the F-15 variants in FreeFalcon III.
The skins are in 1024x1024 resolution, 24-bit DDS format, therefore, no re-compression is necessary once the files are copied in the right place.

As a matter of fact, they will be copied to the right place, as the package has a built-in F4Patch script which will ease the job by a huge percent.

The inventor of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Arthur Davidson, died and went to heaven.
At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur, "Since you've been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is you can hang out with anyone you want in Heaven."
Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, "I want to hang out with God."
St. Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room, and introduced him to God.
God recognised Arthur and commented, "Okay, so you were the one who invented the Harley Davidson motorcycle?!" Arthur said, "Yeah, that's me..."
God commented: "Well, what's the big deal in inventing something that's pretty unstable, makes noise and pollution, and can't run without a road?!
Arthur was apparently embarrassed, but finally spoke, "Excuse me, but aren't you the inventor of woman?"
God said, "Ah, yes."
"Well," said Arthur, "professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention:

1. There's too much inconsistency in the front-end protrusion;
2. It chatters constantly at high speeds;
3. Most of the rear ends are too soft and wobble too much;
4. The intake is placed way too close to the exhaust;
5. And the maintenance costs are outrageous!!"

"Hmmmm, you may have some good points there," replied God, "but hold on."
God went to his Celestial super-computer, typed in a few words and waited for the results. The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it.
"Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed," God said to Arthur, "but according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours."

Hi buddy.
Just flying your Seoul southern approaches and found one tiny misper.
The charts for the southern approaches, show "Start left turn to intercept ILS passing R-180 Seoul Tacan"
It should read "Start right turn...."
Just a heads-up on a typo, my friend. I'm enjoying these charts, BIG TIME.
Can I bomb P-73A, please..

Elevation prog voor korea

Blueprint heeft een nieuw programma geschreven voor Falcon, L2 Elevator, waarmee men de hoogte van het Korea theater kan aanpassen.
Bergen worden hoger en er komt meer relief in het theater, wat dichter bij de werkelijkheid zou moeten liggen.

If you've read the "Theater Tool Developers and Visual Basic people - HELP!!!"- thread, you'll know what this program will do.
For those who didn't read it: "L2 Elevator" will change the elevation data of the Korea terrain to reflect more realistic values.
In short: hills and mountains will be higher.
This allows for new tactical possibilities, like flying through a canyon (if you can find one) or hiding behind a mountain.

Een leuk programma wat het vliegen in Korea nog leuker kan maken.
Echter, er zitten nog wat problemen in, en dus alleen geschikt als je thuis bent in de Falcon directory en je de moeite van een reinstall (back restore) niet uit de weg gaat.
Lees op zijn minst de betreffende thread op Frugals voor alle benodigde info.
